A LITTLE MORE ABOUT SOFIA
“I don’t know what I was looking for either, but in their eyes I found peace and serenity. That lightness that overwhelms you and reminds you that you are here and now, that embraces your soul, what I call true happiness.
I think I learnt the true value of life by living a completely different everyday life from my own. I asked myself: have you ever thought that maybe everything that oppresses and suffocates you actually teaches you how to breathe?
That full breath, that sense of fullness that I haven’t felt in years.
Sometimes I close my eyes and it is as if I am still there, listening to a thousand stories and experiencing a thousand emotions. Nepal stole a piece of my heart, what I experienced and the people I met, I will always carry with me. It is thanks to that month and a half with the monks that today I can feel that deep lightness. I realised that you have to accept pain and then let it go.”
